Markas grinned. "The horrors of fruit," he said. "I don't believe I've ever tried a kiwi, though. They smelled funny." Sihaser wrinkled his nose in distaste. "Just like cantaloupes. Are they a fruit? Well, anyway, what about tomatoes? They're good, but I remember someone telling me that they're both a fruit and a vegetable. Oh, and potatoes. Except, they're just a vegetable. Good vegetables, potatoes are. Pour an ass-load of butter and salt on them and they make the perfect dinner. And lunch. And breakfast." He smiled. "I remember that time I had to survive on potatoes alone for an entire week. Kinda lost my love for them for a while."

Komaki laughed, "Tomatoes are fruits." But in truth, she wished it could be both a fruit and vegetable. She liked that thought, of being two things at once. It was such an attractive idea to her. "It seems like we both like talking about fruit, eh?" At that moment she she placed a pan on the stove, flicked the gaze on high and started pouring in cooking oil. It was obvious through her movements that she was quite experienced at this.

"Only because fruits are the best food out there," Markas pointed out. "Though, I do seem to have a sweet tooth for cake, so let's veer the conversation over to sugars, shall we?" he watched her movements while talking, smiling. She knew what she was doing. Half the people he watched cook didn't know a pan from a pot, or trout from salmon. Pretty sad, he thought. He was a pretty good cook himself, but he always liked having someone else who knew how to cook make a meal for him. Mainly because you kinda get tired from your own food after a while. Trying new things always appealed to him. ((it's horrible, sorry. i'm feeling like shit right now, though))

OOC: don't worry, everyone can feel like that. I've been sick for a week >.< still am >.<
BIC: Komaki giggled as she put down the oil and shifted the pan around a little to spread out the oil. She left it to grab a bowl or prepared vegetable from the table. "You like cakes? Nice. I'm hopeless at making a real cake though." She looked up at him for a moment, "I can do muffins and pancakes. Unfortunately, they are the limits of my baking skills." She paused as she thought again, "Oh, and cookies." At that moment, she noticed the light aroma the oil was giving in and quickly tossed into the vegetables. It was as though she had no fears in the kitchen.

Markas watched her closely. "Cookies are good," he said. "Sugar cookies, chocolate cookies, banana cookies-don't ask, I like all cookies." He smiled. "Man, you're very skilled. I don't know too many people who can just whip something up out of nothing." He raised one eyebrow. "That IS what you're doing, right? Making a delicious meal out of something we'd pick up from the ground?" He grinned. "I've seen too many pretend they can make something then just give me a pile of shit to eat." ((It took me so long to reply! I'm sorry!))

OOC: np, happens to every one. XD
IC: Komaki laughed. "I'll make your tastebuds faint." There was joy in her eyes as she said this. It had been a long time - possibly too long since she had ever spent a long amount of time with ... well, anyone. She continued moving around the vegetables to make sure all of them would be cooked. She moved skillfully, neatly. And already, especially after adding whatever she had added, an aroma was beginning to waft.
OOC: I remember being taught how to cook this. I sucked. My mum is pro. XD

Markas closed his eyes, letting the smell drift over him. "I can already tell it'll taste amazing," he commented, still sitting with his eyes closed. He liked hanging around Komaki. She was actually listening to him, unlike some of the others he stayed with, and her laughter sounded beautiful. Markas always enjoyed a good laugh, and she was certainly giving it to him. He opened his eyes, staring as she continued to cook. "You must be a natural." He gave the slightest cock of his head, a smirk on his face. "I'll have to take you on some time or another." ((I can only bake. I burn everything else in sight))

OOC: baking's cool ... sorry for disappearing >< exams argh...
IC: Komaki smiled as she lifted the pan, tipping the newly cooked food into a dish, "I have a nack for listening." She was sensitive to many things, if you wanted to say something she listened. That's all she did. Listen. "If you listen enough, you learn." It was how she learnt to cook anyway. Add this, remember that, don't do this ... But that was a long time ago ... How long ago she wasn't sure.

"I don't," Markas replied, humming. "Actually, I probably listen the least out of anyone you know. Mainly it's talking. I love talking. But, I'm pretty sure you already know that." He glanced down at one of his fingernails. "Anyway, it's really nice of you to be cooking dinner for me. Not too many people would do so." He smiled at her, quiet for a moment. "Thank you so much." He then looked back down at his fingers, turning red in the face. He never really thanked anyone. It wasn't in his nature.

Komaki smiled as she brought down a few bowls - prepared with little effort. They were simple, but filled with warm thoughts and feelings. She stepped to the rice cooker, turning it off and filling two bowls as she spoke, "Then I must do so more often." She was grinning when she returned to the table, food and eating utensils in had, "I think eating with those you love is the best feeling in the world-" She broke off there, turning a little pink, similar, she noted, to Markas. "Well. It is."

Seeing her blush made Markas feel better. So, he wasn't the only nervous one around here. "Yeah. You're right." To ease her of embarrassment, he continued. "I used to eat with my brother all the time. He was the best friend I ever had, and I loved him to de-" He stopped, and swallowed. "Oh, same with my girlfriend. Or, my EX girlfriend, I guess, since..." He didn't know what to say; everything that came out of his mouth was just gonna make this all worse. "So..." Damn! It's not usual that I'm this speechless! He was getting really angry with himself. C'mon...think of something to say! Nothing came. Grr, I must look like an idiot, sitting here.

She busied herself setting down the food and finally, sat herself down in a chair opposite Markas. "Well, it seems that you have a very ... interesting life." Her expression, formerly a more cheerful one had dimmed somewhat, but the smile was still on her lips. Perhaps I was wrong ... but I though I heard him begin to say "death". Is his brother... "Anyway," Here, she clapped her hands together, a pair of chopsticks wedged between them, "Itadakimasu! Let's eat." She was doing the best she could to eliminate any negativity that was beginning to leak out. Unwanted. I put happiness into this food. And odd as that statement was, Komaki considered it true.
