Since I'm guessing everyone here is a fan of anime or manga to some degree, I decided that to start the talking about general things while we aren't roleplaying and otherwise help the site.. we should discuss what anime or manga was your first, and then explain how if at all it affected how you like it today. My first on BOTH accounts was Cardcaptor Sakura. I feel like because of this, I tend to love more the girly, romance filled ones or the super cute ones or the CLAMP ones filled with drama and heart. Though I'll give anything a shot really, as long as it's not too violent or icky.

haha, it's a completely different story for me. My first manga was InuYasha. But I never really got into it, and that was while I was in fourth grade. Later that year, I was introduced to CLAMP through Chobits and I fell in love with CLAMP manga then ^.^ MY first anime was a result of reading a lot of CLAMP manga - Angelic Layer ^.^ That was when I first got into drawing manga. Or should I say, manga style pictures ^.^

Mine was also Inuyasha, both the manga and the anime. My friend made me watch the anime late on summer night (forgot when) an I became hooked. I think the second day of school was when she brought in the manga, something I don't think I had ever seen, and I stole it from her to read, and I've liked manga from then on. My first Japanese-style manga (since Inuyasha is read normally) was Rurouni Kenshin, and it took my friend two long days to teach me how to read that. The same friend brought Tsubasa to school a few months after that, let another friend of hers burrow it, and I stole it from that friend to read during a test, and became hooked with that. I actually haven't finished reading the entire series of Tsubasa, I must confess, but I did spend one full week studying it, researching it, writing everything I could down about it. (I'm a nerd, I know.) I tried watching the anime of Tsubasa, but I'm just not all that impressed with it, so I'm sticking to the manga

I think I enjoy the anime out of pure fandom.. it's nice seeing it, even if it's not amazing. The music is breathtaking and I would at least suggest you watch the two OVA's that were developed, which are much better than the so-so anime by BeeTrain.
Gasp, Chobits and Angelic Layer are both epic ones to like early on, and alot of people say InuYasha. I guess it's because it was pretty mainstream. I remember it was like the only manga I saw around for a while. ^^

lol, I fell in love with CLAMP. Their drawings are amazing XD I wish that one day I could be like them. I certainly have a loooooooooong way to go ^.^ InuYasha was something loads of my friends liked, I was one of the few that didn't like it a lot XD For some reason, I didn't. I did like some of the characters though, Shesshomaru's a great character XD love him. Funnily enough, everyone in my grade 4 class taught themselves how to read authentic-style japanese manga. We're self taught XD haha, I read the directions once and started reading (lol, I'm smart). But I think it helps if you've got a Chinese background. You get used to understanding that things can go right to left.

But, alas, that's one thing the great and all-powerful Bob Ness cannot do.

Sadly, they end up looking like deformed tall chibis, and when chibi's are "super-deformed" you know something is wrong. o.o I DEFORMED THE ALREADY DEFORMED. But yeah, the CLAMP girls are manga-ka goddesses and creator of all my favorites series' of course.

Whoa. This is sooo good! I love art, though I'm a horrible artist, but you're so amazing! The only good artsy-type thing I can do is the stuff like collages and sculpting. *looks over at her pictures* I'm now double jealous.

oh gawd, that's what everybody on every site I've been on said XD I'm sure each of us has some form of strong point. Funnily enough, once, my friends and I were looking through the 100+ Tsubasa pics on my USB drive during technology and a very interesting friend of mine decided to study their proportions then accuse CLAMP of drawing them wrong. Then, I blasted into a long lecture of how it's CLAMP's unique style XD

CLAMP is very unique. That friend reminds me of Brennen from Bones, how she's always looking at everything scientifically and logically, and stuff like that. So funny!

I haven't heard of either of those. I think it's funny that I started this site yet I'm clueless on most animes/mangas.

I doubt that matters at all XD If you love one anime/manga, cherish that love, no point looking at other ones. Did what I just say make sense? O.o

Perfect sense. I agree so much! It's the same with all books, really, though I read a wide range of different books.
